A city stay and an observing spot

The Moroccan National Tourist Office describes Tangier through its medina, kasbah and coast. Those are useful ways to describe an area when looking for a stay. They do not establish whether the Sun is visible from a particular room, courtyard or terrace.

Ask the host which outdoor space you may actually use, whether it is private or shared, and how you reach it. A photograph taken from a rooftop is not permission to access that rooftop. If you will watch elsewhere, record a separate map pin for that location.

Keep the clock reference visible

Our existing Tangier timing guide uses CEST (UTC+2), the common reference used for comparisons around the Strait. It is not a statement of Moroccan civil time. Keep that label with any copied times and confirm the clock used by your host or transport provider before arranging a meeting.

Describe the overnight stay you need

Include the dates around eclipse morning, the number of people, room or whole-home preference, and any essential access requirements. Say whether your party needs to stay together. If your journey involves a sea crossing or another arrival point, agree the check-in location separately from the observing location; this guide does not confirm transport schedules.
