Benghazi is a specific destination

A request for Benghazi should identify the city, not simply “Libya eclipse accommodation”. The eclipse path continues across a much larger area. A listing or itinerary for another part of the country needs its own coordinates and cannot inherit a Benghazi viewing claim.

Record the sleeping address, the planned observing address and the person responsible for each. If a transfer is proposed, ask which part is actually agreed and who provides it. A place inside the shadow path does not by itself establish legal access to land, a roof or an organised event.

Check travel arrangements before an accommodation agreement

For any proposed Benghazi stay, verify current entry requirements, transport and official travel advice for your nationality and circumstances before committing. We do not assess those conditions here. The astronomical prediction confirms where the shadow travels; it does not confirm that a journey, border crossing or accommodation operation is available or permitted.

Make local communication practical

Ask a prospective host for the written property name, neighbourhood, contact language and arrival instructions. For a group, specify the number of actual beds and any need to remain together. Keep payment, cancellation and any viewing-space access in the direct agreement. An interest form is an introduction to your requirements, not proof of a confirmed place.

For hosts

Welcome eclipse travellers to your city

Have a room or a whole home to offer? Tell us the city, dates, capacity and what guests can genuinely use. Host interest registration is free, with Spanish and Arabic forms. Publication depends on the applicable local requirements and review; a submitted form does not publish an advert.

Eligible listings published through 30 November 2026 are free; afterwards, the fee is €100 per listing. Guest and host arrange the stay and payment directly, without an accommodation commission.

For travellers

Tell us where you would like to stay

Join the paid waitlist from €5 once for directory development and initial requirements review. A higher confirmed net payment prioritises that review, with payment time breaking ties; it does not improve a bid or secure accommodation. Earlier free registrations remain valid.

We review completeness, your preferred area and next steps by 30 November 2026, or a full refund is due. The full 14-day withdrawal right remains. Traveller access opens on 1 December and is purchased separately.

Destination questions

Will the 2027 eclipse be total in Benghazi?

At the reference coordinates for Benghazi, totality on 2 August 2027 is estimated from 11:27:52 to 11:34:03 CEST (UTC+2), lasting about 6 min 11 s. Check your exact address against the NASA eclipse map.

Are the Benghazi times local clock times?

All displayed times use the common CEST (UTC+2) reference; the downloadable dataset stores UTC. These computed estimates are not necessarily the destination’s local civil time. Keep the time-zone label and confirm the clock used by your host or transport provider.

Does a stay in Benghazi include a viewing spot?

Only if the host explicitly includes it. Confirm whether the offer is an overnight stay, a viewing-only space or both, with access hours, capacity and permission to use the space. At this reference point the Sun is about 68° above the horizon at maximum; check obstructions at your actual spot. This guide does not confirm availability.
